ABOUT ROOK
Built inside the executive office.
ROOK was built on years of experience working alongside executives and leadership teams in complex, fast-moving organizations—where priorities shift quickly, details matter, and effective support requires far more than managing a calendar.
We believe the strongest executive partnerships are built on context, judgment, trust, and an understanding of how the organization actually operates.
Executive support is the foundation. Executive leverage is the outcome.
FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL
Experience beyond the executive office.
Sean Cummins founded ROOK after more than a decade working alongside senior executives and leadership teams across aerospace & defense, technology, and high-growth organizations.
His career has taken him from the U.S. Navy to Fortune 100 organizations and venture-backed startups, with experience spanning executive support, executive operations, Chief of Staff work, human resources, and international business development.
That breadth provides a perspective that extends beyond the executive office—an understanding of how functions operate, how priorities move across an organization, and how leadership decisions translate into execution.
That experience shaped the philosophy behind ROOK: exceptional executive support requires more than flawless execution of tasks. It requires context—understanding what matters, why it matters, who needs to be involved, and what needs to happen next.
The strongest executive partners can move between the details and the bigger picture. They protect an executive's time while understanding the priorities behind the calendar. They prepare the meeting while recognizing the decisions it needs to produce. And they don't simply track the follow-up—they help create the conditions for it to happen.
ROOK brings that approach to every engagement, combining senior-level executive support with an operator's mindset to create greater capacity, stronger execution, and real leverage for the leaders we support.

THE ROOK STANDARD
How the work gets done matters.
Executive support is built on trust. ROOK approaches every engagement with the judgment, discretion, ownership, and operational awareness required to become a trusted extension of the executive office.
JUDGEMENT
Know what needs attention.
Not every issue needs to reach the executive. ROOK uses context and sound judgment to distinguish what requires attention, what can be handled, and what can wait.
DISCRETION
Trust is non-negotiable.
Executive offices operate close to sensitive information, consequential decisions, and important relationships. Confidentiality and discretion aren't added features—they're fundamental to the work.
OWNERSHIP
Carry it through.
The job isn't finished when the meeting is scheduled or the request is acknowledged. ROOK takes responsibility for the details, dependencies, and follow-through required to move work forward.
CONTEXT
Understand the why behind the ask.
Knowing the task is useful. Understanding the business behind it is better. ROOK works to understand priorities, people, dynamics, and objectives so support becomes increasingly proactive over time.
Anticipate what’s next. Protect what matters. Move the work forward.
WHY ROOK?
Behind Every Great Move.
ROOK started as a call sign—given long before there was a company behind it.
When it came time to build a firm around a career spent supporting leaders and helping organizations operate more effectively, the name took on a second meaning.
In chess, the rook is powerful without needing to occupy the center of the board. It protects critical positions, creates space, strengthens the pieces around it, and moves decisively when the game changes. Its value comes from position, awareness, and knowing when to move.
The parallel to great executive support was hard to miss.
Behind every visible decision, meeting, priority, and outcome is an operating layer that makes execution possible. Calendars have to reflect priorities. Information has to reach the right people. Decisions need follow-through. Details have to be handled without consuming the leader's attention.
That's where ROOK operates—protecting executive capacity, creating structure around the work, anticipating what comes next, and helping priorities move from intention to execution.
We don't need to be at the center of every move. We need to be positioned where we can create the most leverage.
The name may have come first. The philosophy behind it was built over a career.
That’s ROOK. Behind Every Great Move.
